• Sam started his journey into rugby at Newcastle Falcons before moving on to Hartpury University where he achieved a BSc Sport Performance Degree alongside 3 BUCS Super Rugby winners medals, England Students caps, and a professional rugby contract.  Playing for Hartpury RFC, Bedford Blues, and Jersey Reds, Sam gained invaluable experience in professional rugby in the English championship. Using valuable off-season time, he traveled to play in Sydney for Gordon, further adding to his rugby experience. In 2022, keen to expand his horizons on and off the field he took the opportunity to travel and play in France where he played for Rennes Rugby Club.

At 23, after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, he was forced to break from rugby and complete 6 rounds of chemotherapy. His journey back to playing professional rugby for Jersey Reds is among his biggest achievements. He learnt valuable lessons in resilience, discipline, self-awareness, and recovery strategies.

After being forced to retire at 25 due to concussion injuries, Sam now works as a human-first performance coach. The adversity he has experienced throughout his career has given him unique insights into the world of professional sport.
